I can see that in Exodus 31:13-17
It sounds like you believe the purpose of the Sabbath is to remember what God did in creation and give us a time of rest, is that right?
Thank you for your thorough response!
..Who is our creator.. Remember that we have a foe in this world who has made a counterfeit for everything that God does or has done. If you know anything about the church of Satan, they reverse everything that God has said or done. Even the Bible that they invented is in some kind of reverse order. I do not know exactly how they have done it, but the purpose of Satan is to undo everything that God has done. Sunday falls into that category. It undermines the plan of God in teaching mankind to worship Him as the Creator.
One more thing before I have to go.. Revelation 14:7 is another verse that points out the importance of acknowledging Who our us our Creator. It says, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
If I were judging anyone, then I would be a judge and not a doer of the law, as the text regarding that says. But I believe in keeping the commandments as Jesus commanded. He kept the commandments of his father, and also said that He and his father are one. The 4th commandment reminds us to REMEMBER the Sabbath. All the world has forgotten it, and they keep a false Sabbath, not created by God. See Genesis 2:1-3. Sunday keeping is a commandment of men, created by men.
Hi Agent Cipher, I hope you are having a great day! I am not judging anyone. I am just sharing truth that the Bible teaches and that many of the Protestant church leaders do not yet understand. God blessed the seventh day just after He finished making all His Creation on the 6th day. And on the seventh day, He made the Sabbath holy, a memorial of His resting from all His labor. He was not tired, but He wants us to rest as well each Sabbath as a memorial, to remember what He did, and that He also rested. It comes each week to remind us that He is the Creator of this world and all that in it is.
I also wonder what you would say is the purpose of the Sabbath?
Hi Marilyn, I agree that the 4th commandment still applies today, but I am curious why you think Paul wrote that we shouldn’t judge others about “a sabbath day?”
Agent Cipher, the 4th commandment is as relevant today as the other nine. We will be judged by Christ Jesus, our God, Who is the lawgiver. Exodus 20:8-11 commands (not suggests) that we, Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Good morning everybody. Another Preparation Day has arrived! There is much to do today, but first I am memorizing a few new Bible verses, and reviewing others already learned. The Bible is so interesting, and rekindles my faith, whereever I choose to read. May the words of God be your refuge today as you prepare to keep holy His true Seventh-day Sabbath tomorrow.
“Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” Colossians 2:16-17
Happy Preparation Day, friends! As you get ready to observe the Sabbath, surrender your hearts and plans to the Lord so that you can receive the full blessing of His presence. Where possible, keep your first true Sabbath by attending an SDA church near you. Just put Seventh Day Adventist Church in your Google App search bar (for example) to find a church near you. We always meet on Saturday morning (the seventh day). See Genesis 2:1-3. Sometime, let us know on here about how your experience went. God bless you as you consider keeping holy the day God chose for us to worship Him. Sunday is the counterfeit day of worship chosen by the Devil himself. I am sharing this with you because I do not want the wrath of God to fall upon you. Come out of modern day Babylon and turn away from Sunday keeping. In the end, keeping it will destroy your souls.
🤗 Happy Thanksgiving everyone! May the Spirit of God dwell in your hearts from this time forth and forevermore. Maranatha! 🖐😊🙏❤
This verse is really easy to remember if you learn two simple things about it. (1) There are six Whatsoever Things Are to repeat. And (2) learn T H J P L, the first letter of the five small words. I use a little rhythm to remember them. Then the rest of the verse is a breeze.
One of my memory verses today was Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

If you have not already done so, try memorizing Ephesians 6:10-18, the armor of God. Those words have energized my faith so many times when life was getting rough. They lifted me out of depression thereby changing my state of mind. God is so gracious, giving us exactly what we need to get through anything.
My husband is still very tired after his stroke. He does some physical therapy through the week, but by the weekend, he is so worn out that he wants to spend most of his day stretched out on his recliner. I try to keep him motivated, but it wears me out because I have so many tasks to do throughout the week. We rest on the Sabbath, but after the weather improves, I hope to get him walking a bit during the Sabbath hours, and on Sunday as well. He does not have much drive.

This group used to be so active. Now its only Marylin spamming.😞
My husband got out of both the hospital and rehab early because he was receiving excellent care during rehab. The occupational, physical and speech therapies helped him make rapid progress, but he is still a bit weak on his right side. Fortunately the effect of the stroke is not profound. He can walk with a cane and walker, and even without those assists for short stretches. He does still need additional therapeutic support which he will arrange in the coming week as he needs to gain more strength and stability. And stairs are one of his chief obstacles. There are 3 flights of stairs at our church! During our illness, our son was sick for 3 days, and I was ill for a little over 4 days. It was a cold or three day flu bug. It may have come on as our immune systems were weakened by the stress of my husband's recent stroke.
I have had bronchitis in the past. So when a tingling sensation began to affect my bronchials, I knew what was occurring. So as often as I could, I laid up against a heating pad, which addressed the moisture developing in my lungs. The heat stopped the growing problem almost immediately.
The only things I took for my cold were a hot and cold shower, rest, water, Zicam, hot tea with lemon and honey, and a "natural flu shot" called The Bomb. It works wonders at building back the benefits of the immune system. I also have made juice from fresh fruit.
Here is an update on my family: I was finally feeling well enough to see my husband in person this last Sunday. The rehab is doing him a lot of good. He is having occupational and physical therapy every morning, and speech therapy after lunch. He will be coming home at the end of this week, which is several days earlier than expected. Then he will continue as an outpatient at a physical and occupational therapy clinic near home. And my son and I were well enough to donate plasma today.
I have not visited him since last Sunday, a week. My son and I were exposed to some kind of cold-like illness the Thursday before that. Our son began feeling sick on Sunday with a 3-day flu, and I became sick by Wednesday. I have not had nausea or vomiting, or even a temperature, just a severe headache due to sinus congestion, a lot of sneezing, and a drippy nose. So, my husband and I do FaceTime so we can visit each other and see one another face to face. I will visit him in person once these cold symptoms pass; he is okay with that. But he is receiving visits from friends and family, and they bring him things that he needs from home.
The doctor felt that the MRI showed that he might have had multiple mild strokes earlier in the month as well. But Fred is doing better now that he is in rehab since Tuesday. He sounded much better by Thursday. He was very weak and tired before that, but seemed to be getting strength back in his voice. He usually does his therapies in the morning: first he tackles occupational, then speech, and finishes with physical therapy. By noon he is exhausted. He says he will be there 2 more weeks. By the way, this is the only hospital rehab in the area that has a doctor, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist in house.
My husband, Fred, has recently had more than one light stroke on the left side of his brain. We just admitted him to the hospital where he will remain for a few days. Then he will go directly to a rehab after that. I stayed overnight Friday night in the hospital with him. He is favoring his right side somewhat. He can still walk (praise God), but with assistance. No facial droop or slurred speech, but those brain bleeds have slowed him down significantly both physically and neurologically. He has some loss of right hand grip and control, and he walks with a slight limp. So he won't be coming home for a while. Please pray for Fred.
Revelation 21:22 - And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
God is our refuge, our Rock, our tabernacle, and He will be present with us as we offer our sacrifices of praise unto Him. He will have mercy upon us and answer us. We have only to ask.
Psalm 27:5-7 - For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Having no AC was a little bit of a trial, but we must count our blessings. The air conditioning is now fixed. One car is almost back to normal (still cannot go over 45 without severe shaking). Debating what to do with other car. Could be very expensive to repair, and we are still paying on it! I have started giving plasma to obtain much needed extra cash.
The part came today, and only took a little while to fix. Thank you to my hubby and the Lord. We were only without air conditioning for one week. It could have been worse. :^)
Well, it is warm again. Because our air conditioning has been out for a week because of a broken fan blade, by last night it was sweltering in our home again. I slept on top of the bed imagining I was camping. Haha! And I am sure that tonight will be the same. But things will be looking up soon. The part that my husband is waiting on, to fix the air conditioning, should come today. All my poor cat can do is lounge flat on the bed or the floor, wherever she feels the most breeze from our circulating fans. Bless her heart... She turned 15 today!
1 Peter 5:10 reads, But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect [blameless], stablish, strengthen, settle you. I have chosen to follow the Truth and not the commandments of men. Therefore, my mind is completely made up about Whom I am going to follow.
