This app is great for encouraging Bible verse memorization. It has a huge selection of translations and verse collections (or you can add your own verses just by selecting them). It has an easy to use method for helping you memorize and review your verses. At first you type in the first letter of each word with all of the words displayed, then move to a mode where half of the words are hidden, and then finally to a mode where you prove mastery by typing in the first letter of each word with none of the words displayed. You don't have to be perfect - 90% or above is good enough to prove mastery. The app keeps track of the review schedule - the more times you prove you know the verse (again at 90%) the farther out the verse is pushed in the schedule. For example if you review a verse that you have successfully reviewed 5 times, the verse is moved out 5 days on the review schedule. I love the ranking feature. The more verses you memorize, the higher your rank. The ranking is a nice motivator. You could even set up a little friendly competition with your Bible study group, etc. That's enough about the mechanics. The most important part is what this app has done TO me. I am now not only motivated to learn the Scriptures, but the verses are in my mind throughout the day - greatly improving my spiritual outlook and helping me guard my mind. "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee" As it says in the title - this is now my favorite app.

Don't waste your time or money on other apps. This is the only one that allows you to memorize whatever verse you want and in whatever version you. The system is laid out to memorize as efficiently as possible for maximum retention. I am currently up to 400 verses memorized.

I LOVE this app/program! I am recommending it to all of my friends, including those with school aged children. The concept behind the single letter typing for the word I think is genius. It gets the memory going so much more quickly. I love how easily you can add your own verses you want to work on (big chunks of scripture vs just one verse), and I especially love that it works regardless of internet connection. There are 50 more things I could add that I love about it. Truly this program is worth at least 10 times the amount you pay, actually so much more since who can put a price on hiding God's word in your heart?! Thanks to Brett for helping so quickly when there was a minor glich getting started. BUY THIS APP AND USE IT!!!!

Never have I ever memorized verses so quickly, and I really love how I am able to review them to check my memory! I also like how I am able to choose which Bible version to use! This is a fantastic app. I have long struggled to memorize scripture but the app combined with the website, scripturetyper.com have made it easy and fun. Within two weeks I had memorized 10 verses. I do not use the default translation but it is very easy to import verses of the translation that you use. The application finds the verse or verses that you want in the translation that you want and imports them into the app allowing you to do any necessary edits. The developer is very responsive and helpful. I have recommended the website and app to my family, friends, and our men's group. If you want to memorize scripture get this app.

This is the best app I have installed on my phone. Scripturetyper by far is the best way to memorize the bible and this app sets the gold standard. It's a MUST HAVE! I was reluctant at first to spend 4 bucks on the app but I am so glad I did. I've memorized over 130 verses with it and it is just simply AMAZING. Support is great... very responsive. I love having the ability to create my own topics or collections. Having the online account to sync with is a very helpful option so that whether I am at my desk building collections and working on my verses or on my iPhone at night while I walk my beagle, I can make excellent use of my time! The accuracy tests are fantastic but even more enjoyable is the fun competition set up to see who can memorize the most verses. The app is stable, easy to use, and even motivating by the established competition for those times when my discipline is a little lacking. If I was to change anything at all, I would only make it a little more visually appealing such as even having a background that looks like an older paper. I would also like the ability to edit the order of my verses in a collection which may already be available and I didn't find it. Otherwise, it has already change the level of my scripture memory, made it 100 times more fun for me and has even become a great reference tool to versus on specific topics when I need them quickly! WARNING: Other Scripture memory apps limit the versions of the Bible that are available with in the app, thus making you spend more money to purchase the Bible versions that you desire. This app searches the Internet for the version and verse you are looking for and then imports it into the app so your collection building is then FREE!

I learned of the ScriptureTyper Bible Memory System of type it, memorize it, master it, and review it from Ann Voskamp. Through her website aholyexperience.com, Ann had organized a group with the goal of memorizing the Sermon on the Mount in 2012. When Brett Colson of ScriptureTyper learned there were so many of us accessing the website with the same goal he set up a group feature online, entering the scripture plan we were following and giving us the choice of four Bible versions to access. The Sermon on the Mount group plan syncs to the app along with any individual memory verse choices. Everything is categorized for easy access. I like the accessibility of the app since I have limited computer access, and the one key stoke "type it" feature on the app takes the emphasis off of my typing skills while maintaining the motor stategy of the memorization plan. On the website we can view profiles of other Sermon on the Mount participants, offer encouragement, request and offer prayers, and compare our progress to other members. Working together is definitely a motivator. The group option is new on the website, and Brett has plans to sync other group features to the app in the future. I have never met Brett but he can be easily contacted through the "feature request" and "support" buttons on the app, and he has been so responsive to my questions and requests that it feels like he is a friend. Brett and ScriptureTyper are definitely good news for The Good News. The ScruptureTyper app is a bargain at any price.

This is an excellent app for memorizing scripture. I tried out about 10 of them available in the app store and this turned on top for the following reasons: 1) All I need to do is enter the scripture reference---it enters for me the text in my favorite bible translation 2) Aid with memorization is great! 3) Ability to synchronize across my devices---so I do not have to re-enter the verse when I change devises. I will give it a full 5-star when the following are added: a) support landscape view! b) ability to add the scripture verse to be visible in lock-screen mode and on wallpaper

I have wanted a good memorization app for some time and have actually downloaded and bought several of them. Unfortunately each one had some type of discrepancy. One didn't have a good way to add verses, another had a terrible review system. Put in short - scripture typer has come the closest to meeting all my needs with its easy way to add verse and excellent review system. As always things can improve but this app is heading in the right direction. Please, hear this advise - be careful about wasting your money on other memory apps, I know because I've tried them. Happy memorizing!

A friend showed me the website, and I immediately bought the Scripture Typer Bible Memory iPhone app! By far, it's the best $4 I've EVER spent. The app syncs with the website, you can choose "pre-loaded" passages to memorize or choose to enter your own, there are several different translations available, both the app and website ate super easy to use, and the tech support is phenomenal! I can't say enough good things about it. You need to get this app!

This app was exactly what I was looking for! I love how it syncs with the Scripture Typer website. It is very easy to use and has an effective verse review system built right in. The 'first letter per word' typing removes a lot of typo distractions and keeps my focus on the meaning and memorization of the Scripture. I just downloaded your 'ST' app on my iPhone. I LOVE IT!!! I've been using the Scripture Typer on-line and have been blessed beyond measure with its use. For practice, I've been printing off cards, laminating them, trimming them, wrapping the stack with a rubber and, & carrying them around with me. But as I learn more verses, or edit them, I have to print off a whole new set & go through the same routine. Now I can keep up with it MUCH BETTER on my phone. I love the 'first-letter' feature, which makes review a cinch on a small keypad. Thank you! Great app!! (Can you tell I'm excited?!)

Easy to use. Makes it easy to memorize a ton of Scripture. I used the Scripture Typer website, too, which is also excellent! I like watching my library of memorized verses grow. They have a lot of really good collections to pick from, so I can choose verses that apply to my needs. I think there are over 600 verses in it. Also, I like how it tracks verses that I need to review so I don't get rusty on them. Makes memorizing fin. Thumbs up!
